Pastor’s Column 4/5/2026 - Resurrection Sunday

PASTOR’S COLUMN

11 “Mary was standing outside the tomb crying, and as she wept, she stooped and looked in.  12  She saw two white-robed angels, one sitting at the head and the other at the foot of the place where the body of Jesus had been lying.  13  “Dear woman, why are you crying?” the angels asked her. “Because they have taken away my Lord.” She replied, “and I don’t know where they have put Him.” 14  She turned to leave and saw someone there. It was Jesus, but she didn’t recognize Him. 15  “Dear woman, why are you crying?” Jesus asked her. “Who are you looking for?” She thought He was the gardener. “Sir,” she said, “If you  have taken Him away, tell  me where you have put Him, and I will go and get Him.” 16 “Mary” Jesus said. She turned to Him and cried out, “Raboni” (which is Hebrew for “Teacher) … 18 Mary Magdalene found the disciples and told them, “I have seen the Lord! Then she gave them His message.                     John 20:11-16;18, NLT

“Resurrection – Finding the Risen Saviour!”

The greatness and efficacy of the Christian faith turns on a single unassailable fact: Jesus is alive and is risen from the dead! This claim cannot be made from other religions. We share a relationship with a living Savior. The spirit of Jesus the Christ takes residence in the heart and soul of every believer. We visibly represent Jesus on earth. This is why the fellowship of Christians everywhere – are called “the body of Christ.” We are not a physical body, as much as we are a “spiritual” body. We receive and imbibe the teachings of Jesus. We strive to live according to the spiritual principles he teaches. The Apostle Paul said the Resurrection of Jesus alone validates our faith, and Christ as the Messiah! Mary was determined to find Jesus in the tomb early Sunday morning. When Jesus called Mary’s name, she instinctively knew it was her Lord. Jesus found Mary and she then found Him.None of us will ever find what we fail to seek. Against odds, Mary ventured into the dark morning hours to find the Jesus who had found her!
