Lesson 23
30 Sept. 2025
Lesson 23, Psalm 116:1-19 NLT: The intervention of God at a critical moment in a person’s life, often will remain as a living testimony to the boundless love and mercy of the Lord. This is the experience we encountered in Psalm 116. The writer has overcome a critical illness, where he desperately called on God to heal him and to save his life. In that season of despair, the psalmist learned God does hear the cries of His children. Help comes in such a significant manner, one is not prone to ever forget. God’s mercy and love resonate and remains within the heart and soul. Because the psalmist was near death, God’s restoration of his health induces spontaneous and sustaining praise. There are moments of unashamed praise publicly; and, there is unhindered thanksgiving and praise in the House of the Lord among other worshipers. The psalmist is obligated to “fulfill” the vows he made to God, through his offerings. This act of giving will be done, without any reservation, publicly in the House of the Lord. The psalmist reserves his highest gratitude and praise to God for who He is and all He does! This great God’s mercies and love can never be erased!
